These stocks are "Consumer Grade". There’s a lot of handling and travel between Ruger’s stock producer and us; the manufacturer sends these to Ruger in New Hampshire, where they are installed on new rifles, boxed, shipped to a US distributor, who then ships to us in Indiana where we disassemble the rifles and list their parts.
Ruger packs the rifles in a very poor quality cardboard box with a lock and hardware (generally a scope rail) floating around freely in the box with the rifle. Basically zero concern towards damage prevention.
As such, it’s common for ANY NEW Ruger stocks to have minor dings. They don’t necessarily have them, but they can. We do not do lengthy inspections on these, we take pictures and post them for sale. If we catch any glaring flaw we will highlight it in additional pictures.
